Join me in the woods this Autumn to learn about the fascinating natural history and folklore of our native fungi.
We’ll enjoy a peaceful walk around a beautiful mixed species woodland learning about the various different tree types and the fungi with which they are associated. We'll talk about fungal families and physiology and attempt to identify the various mushrooms species we find, using all our senses. We'll discuss the culinary and medicinal values or toxicity of our finds as well as ecology, etiquette, tools and equipment, law and literature.
At the end of the day there will be freshly made wild mushroom soup for everyone to enjoy and, if the woodsprites are feeling generous, there may even be a drop of sloe gin….
